The City of Bowie Arts Committee established and now maintains art galleries on the first and second floors of Bowie City Hall. The galleries, named East Gallery and West Gallery, include hanging space for photography and paintings, and two display cases for three-dimensional artwork.City Hall is located at 15901 Excalibur Road in Bowie. The building is open Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to noon for viewing what's on display in the galleries.
Future Exhibit - "Figuratively Speaking"
Figuratively Speaking is the next gallery show. It will run from October 12 to January 2014.The exhibit will focus on artwork that illustrates the beauty of the human form in portraiture and figurative artwork.
Artist Group Shows
The Arts Committee primarily hosts juried art shows, but occasionally sponsors an artist group exhibit. Artist groups interested in such an exhibit need to read and complete the guidelines and requirements for exhibiting artwork and complete an Artist Group Entry Form.
